It will be an understatement to say that Serena Williams, the 23-time Grand Slam champion, is a celebrity. Her popularity among her fanbase has attained such heights that she has become one of the most recognizable faces in the sporting world. However, when it comes to the Marvel universe, she turns into one of those fans who might put everything on the line just to get some details. She is a diehard Marvel fan and is following the franchise since its early comic book days.

Despite enjoying the love and warmth of her fans for years, Williams once made a mistake that enraged many of her fans, who were also Marvel fans. She did that one thing that die-hard fans hate. The former World no.1 leaked a spoiler. Although the clip was removed almost immediately, it did enough damage.
When Serena Williams dropped a spoiler
The movie ‘King Richard’, which tells the story of the struggle and success of Serena and Venus Williams from their father’s point of view, received six nominations from this year’s Academy Awards. Therefore, it became a necessity that the duo paid attendance to the event. However, things went south when Williams released a clip of her with Chris Evans in the background, saying, “devastated that he died in that movie, Avengers.”

Evans plays the role of Captain America, one of the most cherished superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Earlier, there have been such incidences in which people, even the actors, slipped details, which garnered immense backlash from the fans. The same would have happened if Serena did not to take down the clip.
Williams deleted the video immediately, and it turns out that her intel was wrong because (spoiler alert!) Evans’ character survived the last battle. The one who sacrificed himself in the Endgame was Tony Stark aka Iron Man, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr.

Williams walked the red carpet of the new Thor movie’s premier
The seven-time Wimbledon champion made a comeback in the singles earlier this year in the grass-courts of London after walking out of the circuit from last year’s championships with an injury. She first tested her skills in the mixed doubles of Eastbourne International, alongside Tunisian tennis star Ons Jabeur, before playing in Centre Court for the last time in her career.

Although she failed to get the better of her opening-round opponent, Williams didn’t let the defeat bring down her spirit, as she attended the premier of the movie Thor: Love and Thunder. She and her husband Alexis Ohanian walked the red carpet together in London and watched the movie.
Recently, Serena expressed her excitement about the impending release of the sequel of the Black Panther movie. Having stepped away from the rigors of professional tennis, she is indeed enjoying her life off the court.
