A few months ago, when the former 10th-ranked tennis player was named GQ Brazil’s “Woman of the Year,” and joined the list of elite tennis players including Maria Sharapova and the 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams, she made a huge disclosure regarding how she wants to embrace motherhood, after a certain time, of leaving the sport behind.

She stated, “I want to be a mom. So I plan to compete for another decade. Last year, the Brazilian tennis player was forced to retire during her 4th-round clash against Elena Rybakina. In between the match, she broke down into tears as her impressive campaign at Wimbledon came to an unfortunate end with an injury. Even though she was fighting hard against Rybakina, the match took a turn for the worse when she let out a loud cry of pain during a backhand in the middle of the opening set.

She gave it her all to win the match and get to the quarterfinals, but in the end, she had to retire midway through to need medical attention. However, she has everything planned out, including retirement and the athletes’ finest moments of their careers—things that are typically unplanned.
