The iconic rivalry between Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova is not unheard of. The two players faced each other 80 times on the court. That is something that no two tennis players have ever been able to do yet.

Recently, Evert shared a picture of the two standing near the net posing for a picture. Evert, humorously, mocked Navratilova for defeating her in that match after seeing the surroundings.

The two have had a legendary rivalry, which did not just prove good for their career growth. It also brought a good name to the sport.

The two players pushed each other to be their best on the court. They knew they were each other’s biggest rivals and therefore did not leave any stone unturned to defeat the other.

However, no matter the intensity of their rivalry, they always respected each other. Evert took to her Twitter to share an old picture of the two players on the grass court near the net. She humorously stated, “Did you beat me in that match? Oh, yes, it’s on grass, I’m sure you did!!!”

Navratilova dominated on the grass court. She reached the finals of Wimbledon 12 times, out of which she won whopping nine times.

Apart from that, fans commented on her post, pointing out the difference between the racquets because Navratilova had an updated and more modern one as compared to Evert.

The most iconic ones are between the three male players, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic. The three players have set astounding records while pushing each other to be their best on the court.

Nadal and Djokovic have faced each other 59 times, Federer and Nadal 40 times, and Federer and Djokovic 50 times. That is the reason why when Federer retired at this year’s Laver Cup, the other two players could not stop their tears. Such rivalries assure the quality of the game and also bring a lot of popularity to the sport.
