The family has undoubtedly played a major role in the success of Venus Williams. Ever since her childhood, it is her family who has guided her to become one of the greatest tennis players. Over the years, the 7-time Grand Slam champion has had a bag full of memorable moments with her family. However, on various occasions, the most memorable moments for Williams have been off the court.

Out from the tour for close to a year now, Williams has made sure to continue interacting with her fans through her YouTube videos. Recently, in one of her YouTube videos, the 42-year-old recalled the first time she went clubbing with her mother.

The ones who know the life history of Venus would rightly be aware of the close bond the Williams sisters had with their mother, Oracene Price. They must also be aware of the struggles that the Williams family underwent before reaching the level of stardom.

Even though the Williams sisters seem to have gelled well with stardom, that doesn’t seem to be the case with the now 70-year-old Oracene. Starting with a brief about her mother, Venus said, “She (mother) doesn’t want to go to all these places. For example, we like to go out. She’s like, I don’t know why you guys like to go out. I’m like, it’s fun.”

Following the brief, she started elaborating on the first time she went clubbing with her mother, Oracene. “I couldn’t take her to a nightclub. Although one time we went in Moscow. It was so funny, we were out. We didn’t have any money. So, we couldn’t actually get home. We made some friends, went to eat in the middle of the night, and managed to get home.”

Laughing off the hilarious incident, she further admitted that it was the first and the last time her mother, Oracene, went clubbing. “That was always my mom. That was the one and only time I went out with my mom and it happened to be like, far far away from home,” she said.

While Oracene didn’t accompany Venus to the club again, that wasn’t the case in court. For years, Oracene was a permanent member of Venus’s player box during tournaments. Even though she doesn’t accompany her to the tournaments now, she still has the utmost support for her elder daughter.
