She shared, “Growing up for me, I was a very shy person. I didn’t notice when people would bully me. There were moments when I was sometimes embarrassed to bring my food like Guatita. It’s a traditional food. So, I felt a little bit shy or scared of what other kids would think. I was just proud of where I came from. They wanted us to experience happiness, love, and acceptance. One thing that I would say is to be proud of the food you bring because it’s part of your culture. It is like presenting it to the world and being proud of it.”
