

Simona Halep’s suspension has picked up steam among fans, thanks to her coach, Patrick Mouratoglou. The renowned coach finally commented on the news of his player’s doping suspension on his social media account. Fans of the two-time Grand Slam champion, however, are not pleased by his approach or manner of managing the problem.

With her suspension due to a drug infraction, Simona Halep is on almost every headline. The two-time Grand Slam champion failed a drug test at the US Open and tested positive for a banned substance named, Roxadustat.
Fans slam Halep’s coach, Patrick Mouratoglou for his statement
The Frenchman explained in his statement that he kept quiet during the previous week in order to shift all of his focus to building trust with the tennis star during her stressful phase. He further added that the 31-year-old is a woman with her own morals and is completely innocent.

However, fans of the Romanian star are not happy with him. Some fans vented out their frustration, saying that the tennis coach’s statement was self-centered.
A fan wrote, “We don’t need support from,you’re suspect. Your statement is for your protection but not to support her . We have 👁 on you.”

While the others questioned the delay in the statement release.
The comment read, “Didn’t trust her enough to post this day ago?”
And another fan wrote, “@patrickmouratoglou you are Simona’s coach. You should have been on top of this story from day one. Nowadays later you speaking out. Coach, you are WRONG, WRONG for this.”

While a Halep fan, who didn’t like the post, wrote, “For some reason, I don t like this post. It s kinda disturbing and forced. Someone here should take lessons from Darren about supporting your no. 1 player, about how to build a strong bond in and out of the arena, about being human and giving less importance to the financial part in this type of moment..and not only. You are a very good coach, ok, but stop acting like a robot.”

A fan also took it as a wake-up call about what is going on and wrote, “busted and let’s move on in life! Come on ppl wake up.”
Simona Halep flourished under Mouratoglou’s tutelage
Following the breakdown of her relationship with her old coach, Darren Cahill, the Frenchman began working as a full-time coach with the two-time Grand Slam champion earlier this year in April. However, the Romanian star’s performance has increased after she joined forces.

Earlier this year, she advanced to the semifinals of the Nad Homburg Open and Birmingham Cassic. Not only that, but after the 2019 performance, she also advanced to the Wimbledon semifinals under his leadership. At the Canadian Open, the 31-year-old also achieved the 24th singles WTA triumph. She eventually reached to the top 10 positions overall nevertheless, after a protracted wait.
