‘Do Your Research Before You Accuse’ – Twitter User Gets Rebuked by Martina Navratilova After Wrongly Blaming Her Silence on Deshaun Watson

Apart from her on-court achievements, Martina Navratilova is well known for fearlessly expressing her strong views. Being vocal since the start of her career, the Czech-American player has evolved with time and now uses Twitter to express her opinions. Recently, the 59-time Grand Slam champion took to Twitter and replied to a random user who accused her of being discriminatory in giving out opinions.

The incident took place following the suspension of the Cleveland Browns quarterback, Deshaun Watson. While Navratilova gave out her opinion on the incident, a Twitter user missed the Tweet and went ahead to troll the former World No. 1.

Martina Navratilova gives back to the troll

Deshaun Watson was suspended for 6 games after being accused of sexual misconduct. Learning about the incident, Navratilova took to her Twitter handle, criticizing the Georgian player and the NFL. While many reacted to her Tweet, that wasn’t the case with a specific troll, who apparently missed Navratilova’s Tweet.

The Twitter user took to his/her handle, calling out Navratilova and Andy Roddick. “Where are two at with your opinions on Deshawn Watson . Funny when you choose to be quiet. He is a di(s)grace to all women,” the user wrote.

While many prominent entities opt to ignore such trolls, that wasn’t the case with Navratilova. Learning about the accusations, the 65-year-old took no time to correct him. Replying to the user’s Tweet, she wrote, “Tweeted a while back about him and the ridiculous NFL , do your research before you accuse, troll…”

As mentioned earlier, the Twitter user also called out the former world no.1 Andy Roddick with the same accusations. In reply, Roddick wrote, “He’s also pretty disgraceful to men.”

This isn’t the first time that Navratilova has replied to a troll. If anyone follows Navratilova on Twitter, they’ll realize that the legendary player is very active on the platform. As mentioned earlier, she uses her Twitter handle to express her thoughts on varied matters. However, despite being an entity of such fame, she doesn’t shy away from giving it back to trolls.
