However, what was the former Russian model’s belief that made her a supportive figure during such hard times?  The tennis legend’s wife recently shared her perspective on dealing with the harsh truth of her partner’s cancer diagnosis.

Recently, the 59-time Grand Slam champion and her family have been dealing with the turmoil surrounding the cancer diagnosis. A few months back, the former tennis legend was diagnosed with two cancers one after the other. One being throat cancer and the other being breast cancer.

Navratilova’s wife’s perspective on dealing with tragedies

The star of the show ‘Real Housewives of Miami’ spoke extensively about her wife’s cancer during a recent interview with PEOPLE. This was the first time after the heartbreaking revelation that the Russian model talked about her wife’s present situation and how they ought to beat cancer together.

She said, “I’m a strong believer that when life hits you with a tragedy, no matter how big the tragedy is, you have basically two choices. You submit, or you push back and rebel. And all my life I was, I’m a rebel in a way, and I always push back. So this is just one of those huge tragedies that hit our family.”

Further, she added, “And Martina doesn’t need me crying, because even if I want to cry, I’m not going to show it to her.”

Additionally, in that same interview, she also revealed a surprise that she wants to give to the tennis legend. As a way of showing her support in her cancer journey.

In that same interview, the 50-year-old actress revealed that she chopped her long hair into a shoulder-length bob cut for her wife, in a way to show her support as a wife. Further, she also revealed how she can’t contain her excitement and is eagerly waiting to see her wife’s reaction.

Moreover, she also shared that she is avoiding the former tennis player’s FaceTime requests just to keep her from seeing the surprise haircut. However, she is still eagerly waiting to surprise his wife and see her reaction to her new haircut.
