Emma Raducanu lost in the her first match after the US Open 2021. Arriving in Indian Wells as a wildcard, she lost to Aliaksandra Sasnovich in straight sets. The final scoreline of the match read 6-2, 6-4. The fairytale had to end sometime for the young star and it ended soon after her incredible triumph.

Raducanu couldn’t recreate her US Open form in the desert. She converted just two break-points and had a win percentage of just 61% on her first serve.

“Life has changed so much”- Navratilova on Raducanu

Navratilova highlighted that life turned upside down for Raducanu after her US Open 2021 glory. She mentioned that the British star doesn’t know how to handle it as of now, but can only improve her performances by featuring in more and more matches.

“I think has life has changed so much. She doesn’t quite know how to handle it yet. Nobody has been there in this position before. She’s blazing her own trail. So, it’s more about how she manages herself off the court… There is just so much stuff that is going on with her. She just needs matches,” added the 18-time Grand Slam winner.
