The movie King Richard made a name for itself, depicting the legendary role played by Richard Williams in shaping the brilliant careers of his two daughters. Venus and Serena Williams have now become the torchbearer of women’s tennis and have raised the sport to another level.

However, the questionable act of Will Smith, the lead actor in King Richard, has drawn a lot of criticism. This includes former world no. 1 American tennis player, John McEnroe.
John McEnroe talks about Will Smith’s incident at the Oscars
Former tennis player John McEnroe talked about the incident in a podcast. He was talking about the mishaps at the Oscars when he mentioned the incident. He said, “Doesn’t rank up there with the Will Smith thing”. McEnroe added, “He set a whole new standard, Will Smith.”
The incident where Will Smith slapped the host Chris Rock over a joke about his wife has divided the opinions amongst the people. But people mainly condemned the violent act. Consequently, Academy Awards banned the actor, who later issued an apology.

The movie ‘King Richard’ is about the role played by Richard Williams in shaping up the basics of tennis in his daughters. They both then went on to become two of the best women’s tennis players in the world.

This year, Venus Williams decided to sit on the courtside to support her sister, Serena Williams, at Wimbledon. Where Serena Williams participated in the grass-court major and had to bid an early farewell. French player Harmony Tan defeated the former world no. 1 player.
However, that has not dampened the spirit of the player. Serena Williams is still optimistic about her participation at the US Open.
