“Don’t Date in Workplace”: Venus Williams Responds When Asked About Dating ‘Hot Male Tennis Players’

7-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams revolutionized the WTA Tour along with her sister, Serena Williams. Having been away from competitive action since August, she recently participated in a ‘Ask me anything’ challenge from her clothing line, EleVen’s Instagram profile.

She was immediately flooded with intriguing questions, one of which was about the attractive players on the ATP tour being a potential distraction.

Venus Williams answers the intriguing question

Recently, Venus Williams‘ EleVen is a clothing line which was founded in 2007. The apparel is specially designed for women to make ‘quality activewear’. The 7-time Grand Slam champion specifically asked her followers to send tennis related questions. And this one was, in a way, related to tennis.

One interesting question which popped up was, “How do you stay focused during the tournaments with all the hot male players around?” Following this question, Venus Williams strongly replied, “I DON’T DATE IN THE WORKPLACE.” She posted a picture of herself with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, as she wrote her answer.

Venus has often bantered about her dating life in the past. On one occasion, the star joked that she might be ‘undateable‘.

Venus’ 2021 tennis season

Venus Williams’ performances throughout the 2021 WTA tour have been underwhelming. She started her season with an early second-round exit from the Australian Open.

A number of first round exits at tour level competitions followed the Australian Open exit. At Roland Garros, Ekaterina Alexandrova of Russia thrashed the former World No. 1 in straight sets in the opening round itself. 

She then competed at the Wimbledon championships where she was defeated by the in-form Ons Jabeur in the second set. Jabeur is currently in the race to qualify for the WTA Finals. Williams’ then announced that she’ll withdraw from the US Open.
