

After an illustrious career, American tennis legend, Serena Williams recently hung her racket. The 40-year-old made and broke many records in her career. However, most importantly, she made a few good friends on and off the court during her playing days. While on court she found a good friend in Caroline Wozniacki. Off the court, she had a great friendship with Meghan Markle.

Back in 2018, Markel married Prince Harry and Williams attended the wedding with her husband Alexis Ohanian. Later, there was news about the couple engaging in a Beer Pong game at the wedding function. However, the Tennis ace later denied that any such thing ever happened.

In an interview from the French Open 2018, Serena Williams revealed that the beer Pong news is nothing but a rumor. Further, she clarified she doesn’t even drink beer. “Oh, there was no beer pong. I don’t even drink beer, and I don’t know where this story came out. It’s not even remotely true. And my friends are like, ‘What happened?’ I’m like, There was no beer pong,” she said.

Notably, Serena and Markle’s friendship goes down a long way. The two first met in 2010 and became good friends when they met again in 2014.
Serena’s last Grand Slam
Serena Williams declared her retirement plans in her interview with Vogue Magazine. The 40-year-old was all set to bid goodbye after the US Open 2022. Before the tournament, Serena was not in great form. The former world number one had won only one out of four matches she played this year. Williams had suffered a heavy, straight-set defeat against Emma Raducanu just before entering the US open.

However, she looked in much better touch in her first-round match of the US Open. After winning her first-round match in straight sets, Serena won a tough second-round match against the second seed, Anett Kontaveit. Up next, she faced Ajla Tomljanović of Australia in the third round. Although Serena gave it her all, her young opponent held her nerves and took the match.
