Serena Williams talks about Olympia’s disinterest in tennis

The 41-year-old was recently featured in an interview with the renowned journalist, Norah O’Donnell, in which she was asked about her daughter’s latest endeavors. Later, the conversation moved to Olympia’s disinterest in tennis despite having a great talent for the game. Taking note of that, O’Donnell suggested that a sibling or a playmate can maybe change the 5-year-old’s attitude.

Serena Williams agreed with her viewpoint about having someone to play with can actually make her inclined toward tennis. She answered by saying that her daughter loves being social at such a young age.

The former tennis ace added, “And it’s interesting because I don’t think I grown up playing tennis. I don’t think I loved being social. But looking back, I was always with my sisters. So obviously it was super social. So that makes sense that you know that girls like to have that social sport and it’s a social aspect of that.”

The Queen of the court further believes that it’s very crucial for girls of her daughter’s age. Speaking about Olympia, Williams said that she likes being around friends whether it is at her school or somewhere else. The American tennis icon also stated that maybe she can push the 5-year-old into tennis by getting her some playmates. She reiterated by saying that her daughter is actually really good at the game.

Since her first appearance in the 90s, the American tennis icon has often bedazzled her legion of fans by putting on some wondrous displays on the court. Now this remarkable talent has apparently been passed down to her daughter, Olympia Ohanin who has already entered the sphere of the beautiful game at a very young age.

Despite being so good at the sport, the 5-year-old doesn’t actually like to play it too much. Taking note of her daughter’s disinterest in tennis, the Queen of the court is “disappointed” according to her recent revelation.
