Following Serena Williams’ retirement, Margaret Court, the Australian tennis legend, gave a message to the tennis community for apparently ignoring her achievements. Margaret Court and the apparent feud with the tennis fraternity

All of it started with the obvious tension between Williams and Court. The Australian recently brought it up in an interview with the Telegraph UK, where she criticized Serena. Court believes that Serena Williams and others like Martina Navratilova get a lot of respect from the tennis fraternity while she is almost forgotten.

It’s only when they have to, because I still hold so many records. In 2020, I was meant to be coming to Wimbledon for the 50th anniversary of my calendar grand slam. But then Covid hit, so the honour never happened… I didn’t lose any sleep over it. … In my own nation, I have been given titles, but they would still rather not mention me,” she continued.

Criticism and allegations are something that vary from person to person. Not every individual accepts it in the same way. Tennis fans and enthusiasts around the world weren’t happy with Court either. Ben Rothenberg, a well-known tennis writer, took to Twitter to express his opinion on this issue.

Earlier in an interview, the 23-time Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams, said that Court won the majority of her major titles before the Open Era. Chris Evert also pointed out that very few top players traveled to play the Australian Open, a major that Court has won 11 times in her career.

What do you think of Court’s opinions? Do you think her achievements are better than that of Serena’s?
