Naomi Osaka talks about her journey after pregnancy while reflecting on the challenges that she had to overcome
In a recent interview, Naomi Osaka came ahead and talked about the tough road to regaining her athletic prowess after having a baby. The tennis star, known for her perfectionism, decided to get back to training quickly but faced frustration when results didn’t show up as fast as she wanted. She then explained her feelings like she was driving an unfamiliar car, a big change from how she used to feel in her body.
The physical challenges stuck around for months, making even simple things like sit-ups a struggle. Osaka looks back on this time, talking about how she learned to like herself the way she is now. Waking up every day to her daughter reminded her of how strong she was to bring a new life into the world.
“Yeah, it’s been a really tough journey. I feel like for me I always feel like or felt like I was chasing myself in the past, and honestly it wasn’t really healthy to do. Like after giving birth, I feel like I trained, like, really quickly, and that was my choice, of course, and I was really happy to do that, but I also felt like I’m a very big perfectionist, and it’s kind of tough when you don’t see results as quickly. I give this example a lot: I kind of felt like I was driving a car that wasn’t mine, so my body didn’t feel like the body that I was used to,” said Naomi Osaka in the interview.
