In the interview, Williams was quizzed regarding her mother’s reaction after her first win in a decisive match. Williams answered, “My mother is always quite stoic and quite calm even when she warms up a lot, like in those moments when she observes me, on the field, while I am at the peak of adrenaline”.
The interviewer showed Williams a video that captured Price’s priceless reaction following Williams’ decisive win. After watching the video, Williams went on to say, “In that video, after my victory, it’s almost as if her face takes on an expression of relief instead of excitement, as if her whole body is saying, “Now it’s over.””
