The co-founder of Reddit, now worth more than $15 billion, has also founded two burgeoning companies of his own. The new ventures exemplify his spirit of entrepreneurship and commitment to contribute to the tech industry. Alexis Ohanian’s ardor for developing the internet extends beyond his ventures. The stubborn entrepreneur has taken a strong position in favor of preserving an open and flourishing web universe. The investor has firmly contested any idea that could impede innovation and stunt digital progress. Serena Williams’ husband recognizes that creative ideas and technological advancements must be encouraged for a healthier online world.

When Ohanian and Steve Huffman originally imagined Reddit as a platform, they envisioned a place of content submission and sharing that would be ranked and curated by the community. This rather tongue-in-cheek name – a play on the phrase “I read it” – embodied their goal for Reddit. However, not everybody approved; the name was met with disapproval, including their investors. Ohanian remembers how much opposition the name had been met with. However, his undeterred confidence and trust in his abilities as a first-time CEO and product creator spurred him onward.
