Austin said, “She then had a turnaround summer, winning titles in D.C. and Cincinnati—and arrived in New York with justifiably high hopes. Every time Coco played, the American crowd was heavily in her corner.” Not only that, she also highlighted how the third-seeded tennis player showed that it was just a matter of an attitude change that made her a champion.

Subsequently, she stated how it was the very moment that the US Open journey changed people’s perspective. She said, “Coco’s semifinal was delayed when a protestor glued his feet to the ground. And then, in the finals, Coco lost the first set against a red-hot Aryna Sabalenka. With lots of celebrities and millions cheering her on, Coco problem-solved her way to the title.” It won’t be wrong to say that while the American fans were waiting for her to win a major title, Gauff’s victory at the right time changed everything for her.

After that, even though Gauff faced a lot of ups and downs on the court, fans knew that she was capable of achieving victories on the big platform. On the other hand, a former Australian tennis professional, Casey Dellacqua, a few months ago, opened up about how there is still one biggest competitor standing against Gauff, with whom it won’t be easy to compete.

Along with the 19-year-old, Iga Swiatek is also on the top of her game. While everything is going well after the US Open, the Polish tennis player has gotten better at her game, having no intention of slowing down. The 38-year-old Australian tennis player talked in a podcast about how Swiatek is one of the biggest opponents Gauff had to deal with.

She said, “I think, you know, we all saw what Gauff was able to achieve at the US Open. But I think in terms of dominance and in terms of who’s kind of still at the top of the women’s game, you can’t go past Swiatek.” Along with that, she also highlighted how the four-time Grand Slam champion is still at the top of her game and even stands tall against her opponents while putting on great performances on the tennis court.
