In recent news, it was declared by the mayor of New York City that there would be a lot of budget cuts for public parks. Due to this a lot of staffers have been lost in the maintenance of the parks. This is a concerning issue for the citizens of the city. And tennis legend Billie Jean King also took it upon herself to share her views about this rising issue.
Billie Jean King used her social media platform to share her views on this particular topic and raise her voice about how the cost-cutting for the maintenance of parks can prove to be disastrous for the people living in the city.

The mayor of New York City, Eric Adams recently announced that there will be budget cuts around public parks in the city. This may worsen the condition of the parks making them dirtier and unsafe. Of course, Billie Jean King, being an advocate for society as she is, raised her voice against these cuts.

She posted a story on her official Instagram account. In the story, she posted a photo of the parks filled with trash. The caption read, “Say #NoCutsToParks. @nycmayor has slashed the @nycparks budget, and more cuts are coming. Already 1450+ frontline parks maintenance workers have been lost. The BJK Cup hosts a Heart Award, in which they recognize players who have represented their country in a great way. King recently announced this on her official Twitter account and also disclosed the names of the 4 female players who have been nominated for the award. The names of those players are Jasmine Paolini, Storm Hunter, Leylah Fernandez, and Barbora Krejcikova.
