Rybakina defeated Mayar Sherif by 6-1 and 6-4 to bag this achievement. Including her latest victory at the Mutua Madrid Open, she has sincerely dominated the clay court for 374 days without a loss. However, this WTA star withdrew from her Rolland Garros tour last year due to an upper respiratory illness. So, her clay court attempts will stretch to Rome including the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix and Madrid Open this season. Since she withdrew before the match started, her French Open absence is not regarded as her loss. This WTA star previously won six matches in Stuttgart following two more matches in Madrid to secure this success.

Following this victory, Rybakina enters into the league of Serena Williams. This former world’s number-one tennis star consecutively won 33 clay-court matches from 2012 to 2015. While Swiatek also bagged this achievement, she couldn’t match up to Williams’s score. Iga Swiatek won 12 clay court matches consecutively starting from Rome 2021 to Madrid Open last year. Nevertheless, entering into the list containing two successful WTA players, Rybakina surely bagged a great achievement in her professional career.
How was Rybakina’s latest Madrid match that brought her this latest achievement?
Elena Rybakina truly tried her best in defeating Mayar Sherif at the Mutua Madrid Open’s second round. This WTA star successfully dropped an early break and converted her seventh break point in the second round of the match. In the second round, Rybakina again saved a third break point and continued to dominate her opponent. Despite Sherif trying her best, Rybakina remained indomitable and confident on the court.
