WTA number seven Elena Rybakina is back on the court in style! After missing out on the Asian swing due to a lower back injury, the Kazakh star is finally gearing up for the upcoming season. Alongside her intense preparations for the next year, Rybakina is also embracing a transformation in her fashion. Rybakina’s kit for the upcoming Australian Open has been revealed by Yonex.

The Kazakhstani WTA star had been a donning Adidas for three years. However, she partnered with the Japanese company during last year’s French Open. Following the partnership, she immediately started wearing their apparel and shoes. Rybakina also uses a Yonex Vcore 100 racquet, with which the WTA star holds the record for most aces ever hit in a WTA 1000 tournament—an impressive 69 aces during the 2023 Miami Open. “We’ve been together from the beginning; I have very good memories and am really happy to continue working with Yonex,” said Rybakina expressing her happiness working with the brand.

The Tennis Letter tweeted a photo of the WTA number seven in her brand-new apparel and shoes for the 2025 Australian Open. Dressed in a tank top featuring bright red, pink, and white hues paired with a beige skirt subtly enhanced Yonex’s logo at the edge, Rybakina looks gorgeous. Notably, her Yonex white racquet complemented her outfit beautifully. This Kazakh player completed the look with a white cap.

While this photo revealed only one outfit for her, a reliable fan shared other options for the player. The fan posted a collage featuring the Tennis Letter’s picture alongside outfit variations, which included a dress, shorts, and additional tank tops. Beyond the marble-printed tank top worn by Rybakina, the Japanese brand also offered her a solid red-and-beige tank top with contrasting borders, two similarly solid-colored polo T-shirts, marble-printed shorts, and a beige tennis dress.

When the look was revealed, Rybakina’s supporters expressed mixed reactions. While the majority loved the design, some felt the colors and style were better suited for Wimbledon, offering a “strawberries and cream” vibe. Others were less enthusiastic about the combination of the beige skirt with the red, pink, and white top. However, the fraternity agreed it looked was an improvement over her outfit for this year’s Australian Open. Contrastingly, when Yonex unveiled her kit for the 2024 Australian Open, the brand faced severe criticism from the player’s die-hard supporters.

Elena Rybakina’s 2024 Australian Open outfit by Yonex was a big flop

This year at the Melbourne Major, Rybakina wore a yellow Yonex tank top paired with a blue skirt from the same brand. She highlighted her look with a white cup, sky-blue sneakers, and a red racquet- all from the same Japanese brand. Much to her surprise, Rybakina’s look was disapproved by fans – and comments section was filled with not-so-pleasant reactions. “OK they better pay her more than Adidas otherwise it’s not worth it at all,” wrote a fan. Another said, “Yonex I will set your headquarters on fire.” The comment expressed how angry Rybakina’s supporters were about her 2024 AO kit by Yonex. People continuously expressed their frustration over her Melbourne look. “What on earth is that???! Yonex you will pay for your crimes,” wrote another fan showcasing straight disapproval about the look. Despite negative criticisms, Rybakina maintained her silence showcasing how tennis has been her priority over anything.
