The Indian Wells Masters has delivered great action to us since it began. Elina Svitolina became a victim of a player in form as she lost to Emma Navarro in three sets. The American player was elated at her victory and, in her post-match interview, gave a shout-out to one of her biggest fans, who is nearing a century and likely stayed up late for her bout.

Navarro has been on a glorious display of tennis recently. Before the Indian Wells, Navarro managed to bag a gigantic prize at the Indian Wells, making her biggest fans love her even more.

Emma Navarro gives a shout-out to biggest fan after Elina Svitolina triumph

Emma Navarro beat Lesia Tsurenko in the first round and beat her in three sets. She would go on to play another Ukrainian player in the second round and managed to end Svitolina’s hopes in three sets, serving her a breadstick in the first set. Elated, Navarro would go on to give a shout-out to her 92-year-old grandmother, who was watching her bout, which continued late in the night.

During the post-match interview, she said, “I have to give a special shout out to my grandmother. She’s 92 and she’s awake watching at home. I don’t think she’s missed a match since I’ve been on tour. Shout out to Grammy. Thanks for watching.” Navarro’s stint has fared well for her and she has managed to attain two great wins.

She will now play against Aryna Sabalenka in the third round, which will likely be her biggest challenge in the Indian Wells. The American player was all smiles after her win as she was on a great run. She also managed to attain a great prize sum before the BNP Paribas Open.

Navarro claims an impressive prize money

The Eisenhower Cup created excitement for the Indian Wells before the championship began. Ben Shelton and Emma Navarro faced Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa in a high-profile doubles match. The American duo will receive a sizable prize purse after defeating the tennis lovebirds. Along with the Eisenhower Cup, the American players have won a whopping $200,000 ahead of their efforts at the Indian Wells Open.

Navarro carried the momentum in her stint in Indian Wells and is looking forward to beating Sabalenka. However, the challenge is not going to be easy as the Tiger is far ahead of Navarro in terms of experience and playing the finals of higher-level competitions. Her form is great, but Saba is on another level. How will she fare?
