19-year-old Emma Raducanu rose to fame when she became the 2021 US Open champion. However, winning the title had much more for her than just the trophy and the winning price. Following her win at the Flushing Meadows, Emma became an overnight star, receiving invitations from some of the top brands in the world to be their brand ambassador.

The US Open champion recently made her first public appearance after her Australian Open defeat. She attended Evian’s Sparkling Water launch event, in the role of their global brand ambassador.

Emma flared in a glittering purple gown and paired it with black heels.

Emma’s rise to fame

Emma’s journey to fame started after her win at the US Open last year. The 19-year-old who was just like any other player on the tour soon became one of the most valuable faces for the top brands around the world. The British have signed deals with brands like Tiffany&Co., Dior, and British Airways.

Recently, the player attended the launch of Evian’s new sparkling water. Again, a brand for whom she serves as the brand ambassador. Holding can’s of their new sparkling water, Emma went on to pose on the Evian London style bus. This was her first public appearance after the Australian Open.

In an interview prior to the Australian Open, Raducanu confessed she is ‘winging’ with her newly found fame. 

Speaking to fashion magazine Grazia, she opened up about her recent fame and her new sponsorships. She said, “I’m just really privileged to work with some amazing brands and top professionals so they know exactly what they’re doing. I just go along with it and wing it!”

Even though Raducanu is enjoying the outside fame after her US Open win, she struggles to get back her Flushing Meadows form. Post the US Open, Emma played 3 events in the 2021 season. However, she faced early-round exits in all 3.

She kicked off her 2022 season at the WTA 500 Sydney Tennis Classic event, only to see a first-round defeat. Entering the Australian Open as the 17th seed, Emma won the first round of the grand slam in 3 sets. However, the win was short-lived as she suffered blisters in her playing hand in the second round. Even though the 19-year-old fought hard to take a set, she could not maintain her game and lost in the second round.

Emma Raducanu is currently ranked 13th in the WTA Rankings.
