Emma Raducanu Joins Maria Sharapova’s Elite League with Tiffany and Co Following US Open Success

Emma Raducanu is having the time of her life as her phenomenal year continues. She was just announced as the newest ambassador for Tiffany & Co., a luxury jewellery business. Tracee Ellis Ross, Anya Taylor-Joy, and, most recently, Beyoncé and Jay-Z are among Tiffany & Co’s brand ambassadors.

Emma Raducanu has been appointed as Tiffany & Co.’s newest ambassador. The news was revealed during British Vogue and Tiffany’s annual Fashion and Film event. The occasion was held on Monday, September 20 at the Londoner Hotel in Leicester Square.

Raducanu won the Women’s Singles at the 2021 US Open and became the first British woman to win a major singles championship since 1977. Raducanu rose 127 places in the Women’s Tennis Association rankings, from 150th to 23rd, following her victory over Leylah Fernandez. She’s currently ranked World No. 22 by the WTA.

“It’s such an iconic brand and one that I’ve felt connected to for quite some time,” she said. “I wore the ring, bracelet, earrings and cross necklace throughout the tournament. These pieces will always be very special to me,” she told vogue after signing the contract.

Furthermore, the tennis champion said it was a “honour” to be a part of the company in an Instagram post. Raducanu wore Tiffany diamond earrings and a monochromatic Chanel outfit to her first Met Gala occasion.

After having a spectacular 2008 season, Maria Sharapova signed a two-year contract with Tiffany and co. The Russian is a five time grand slam champion. The former world number 1 wore eight pairs of Tiffany & Co. earrings at the four Grand Slams, Wimbledon, the US, French, and Australian Open—for two years in a row.

When asked about her major contract deal with Tiffany, Sharapova jokingly replied, “Beauty sells. I have to realize that’s part of why people want me. I understand it. It’s fine. I’m not going to make myself ugly.”

Tennis players are usually chased by brands following successes at grand slam events. Thus, Emma Raducanu, the 18-year-old teenager, got a lucrative deal with Tiffany & co.
