After making her professional debut in June 2021, Emma Raducanu has already earned a huge name on the WTA Tour. She played some brilliant tennis at the Wimbledon Championships 2021 and is now in the semi-finals of the US Open 2021. The rising star recently became the youngest player to reach the semis of the US Open since Maria Sharapova achieved the feat in 2005.

Emma Raducanu’s ranking before the Wimbledon Championships was 338. However, as of now, she is the World No.150 player and has defeated the likes of Belinda Bencic and Shelby Rogers at the US Open 2021. As a result, she might land up within the top 100 players after the Grand Slam.

Raducanu recently made history after she became the first qualifier to reach the semis of the US Open 2021 in the Open Era. The 18-year-old is yet to drop a set at the US Open 2021 and it will be intriguing to see if she manages to end on the winning side or not.

Interestingly, the World No.150 player has connections with both Romania and China. While her father is Romanian, her mother hails from China and both are currently working in the finance sector. Raducanu often visits Romania to meet her grandmother, and it is because of this reason that Simona Halep is her favorite tennis player and role model as well.

Raducanu’s parents moved from Canada to the United Kingdom when she was just 2-years-old. She began playing tennis at the age of five at the Bromley Tennis Academy and did her schooling at Newstead Wood School. Intriguingly, she has always been a bright student as she got A-level grades in both Mathematics and Economics.
