Many people who come from adversity have to fight harder than anybody else to achieve success in any vocation. However, there are people who support them at one point or another, becoming a part of their wonderful journey. Venus Williams is one player who had to fight through a lot in her life to become a great player. But she did not forget all the people who helped her reach that point. In 2017, she visited her childhood teacher to show her gratitude.
Venus Williams surprises old teacher
Venus Williams is someone who has gone through tough times in her life. But she has received help from many in her journey to become a legendary tennis player. Her father, Richard Williams, fought for her throughout her life to ensure she goes on to become successful in the sport. He has even protected her from interviews that were questionable.

In honor of the 2017 National Teacher Appreciation Month, @Venuseswilliams returned to her old first grade classroom to say thank you to her former teacher, Ms. Judy Vellegas.

Another person who supported Queen V in her childhood was her teacher. In 2017, Williams surprised her childhood teacher, Judy Vellegas, with a visit to her Kindergarten. The reunion between the two was quite emotional. Vellegas also introduced Williams to the class. She also showed Queen V her class picture from when she attended Kindergarten. Vellegas also told the seven-time grand slam champion to be proud of herself.
“We had to make file on all of our students, and I felt like I’ve gotta save this and I wanna see where this kid goes and you’ve gone so far. Be proud of yourself,” said Vellegas to Williams.

A video of the reunion was recently shared on Twitter in honor of National Teacher Appreciation Month. The post was captioned, “In honor of the 2017 National Teacher Appreciation Month, @Venuseswilliams returned to her old first grade classroom to say thank you to her former teacher, Ms. Judy Vellegas. Venus Williams always looks to inspire children
Queen V is another member of the Williams family beside her sister, who aims to inspire the young generation. She visited a VIP clinic in Miami last year in order to pass her knowledge to the next generation of players. She clicked quite a few pictures with the children and had a practice hitting session with some of them after.

Queen V has gone through adversity in her life and knows the importance of a role model. Therefore, she wants to act as a role model to kids around the world and uplift their spirits.
