Serena Williams is an all-rounder in the true sense. While we all are familiar with her on-court exploits, she has also carved a niche for herself in the business world. During the past year, she was away from tennis due to a hamstring injury sustained at 2021 Wimbledon. The former World Number 1 used this time to grow her business ventures.

Serena returned to tennis during the ongoing grass-court season. However, her singles comeback didn’t go according to plans as she lost in the opening round of the Wimbledon Championships 2022. She put on a valiant effort but could not overcome the challenge of France’s Harmony Tan. Recently, she had some good news for her fans back home.
Serena Williams to serve up some business advice
The younger Williams sister took to Twitter to announce her participation in the Black Tech Week in Cincinnati as a keynote speaker. She said, “Excited to be at @BlackTechWeek with (Lightship Foundation) this year as they empower Black founders everywhere.”

Earlier this year, Serena’s Venture Capital firm, Serena Ventures, received a mammoth funding of USD 111 Million. The 23-time Grand Slam champion maintained that she aims to invest this amount in women and diversity.

Talking on this subject, Serena said, “For us, it’s really about diversity and it’s not about us not investing in them, it’s just about not needing what our mission and what we want to invest in. I love investing and I started it because I was at a seminar and this woman was speaking about her lesson – 2% of all VC money went to women, even less went to people of color.”
Serena motivated to come back stronger
The 40-year-old came close to winning her first singles match after a year. However, she lost the super-tiebreaker to suffer a heartbreaking defeat. After her first-round Wimbledon exit, Serena revealed that she was motivated to participate in the US Open, her ‘home’ Grand Slam tournament.
