Earlier today, the 7-time Grand Slam champion announced that she won’t be playing in anymore tournaments this year, thereby ending her 2023 season. Additionally, she’ll also skip next year’s Australian Open. It left her fans in dismay as they wished to watch her play at the Australian Open.

With Venus’ recent announcement, she will be out of action for more than four months now. As she broke the news about missing the 2024 Australian Open, fans flooded social media to react to it.

One of the fans on Twitter reacted by saying, “she will come back healthy for 20 minutes, then she will fall again and she will have a break again for 6 months ijbol.”

Further, another one said, “As much as I don’t want to say it and I really don’t. I think like my dad says, it’s time to let it go. I love Venus so much and I don’t like seeing her lose. That U.S. Open loss was horrible and I had secondhand embarrassment. I don’t want to feel that again.”

Additionally, she was also set to play doubles alongside Ons Jabeur, who pulled out of the tournament due to an injury. Similarly, Venus too withdrew from the tournament on account of not being completely fit.
