Stepping into the spotlight like a seasoned pro, Serena Williams will take center stage for ESPN. The American legend is hosting “The 2024 ESPYS Presented by Capital One” live on July 11. But before that, a new promo dropped featuring the 23-time Grand Slam champion, ruling the stage like a queen.

Over her successful career, Williams—an iconic figure in tennis—has won twelve ESPY Awards. She has received 10 awards for being the best female tennis player and two, in 2003 and 2013, for being the best female athlete. She will become the fourth female host of the ESPY televised presentation in its two-decade history, adding another honor to her resume and demonstrating her impact both on and off the court.

Recently, the official Instagram account of ABC shared a short video in which the former world number one was seen hitting a shot in a black dress, looking stunning. Along with that, the caption read, “The ball’s in Serena’s court 🎾 Don’t miss the 2024 #ESPYS presented by Capital One LIVE July 11 on ABC!”

The eight-part series “In the Arena: Serena Williams,” which explores her remarkable career in depth, will air on July 10 ahead of the ESPY Awards. With interviews with the 23-time Grand Slam singles champion and those closest to her, the series promises to be “the most complete, intimate, and compelling” representation of her journey, providing an unmatched glimpse into the life and legacy of this tennis icon.

Not only that, after the news of hosting the event broke out, Williams shared a statement, sharing her happiness over getting the big opportunity. She stated, “This is a dream come true for me, and something I’ve wanted to do for as long as I can remember. It has been a sensational year for sports and an unprecedented one for female athletes. I can’t wait to celebrate everyone on stage in July.” 

However, a few months ago, the former world number one shone brighter as she attended Balmain and Off-White shows at the 2024 Paris Fashion Week.

Serena Williams shines at the Paris Fashion Week 

Williams showed off the Off-White and Balmain fall and winter 2024–25 designs during Paris Fashion Week. She attended both performances with Alessandra Ambrosio, Ashley Graham, Halle Bailey, Cher, Willow Smith, Lisa Rinna, and Ashley Park, all of whom looked stunning in black attire.

Williams wore shoes, a black trench coat, and a mid-length black dress with a white rose for Balmain. She donned a varsity jacket, strappy pumps, and a short black dress with cutouts to the Off-White event. The 23-time Grand Slam champion honored the late Virgil Abloh, the creator of the brand, by sharing pictures from the Off-White event with the caption #VirgilForever. Williams’ close friend Abloh lost his battle with illness in 2021.
