Eugenie Bouchard switched her interest from tennis last year. For those unaware, she was the first Canadian player to enter the Wimbledon’s finals, back in 2014. Not to mention her semifinal run at the Australian Open and French Open in that same year. Not only that, she even contributed to Canada’s Billie Jean King Cup victory last year. However, she clearly wasn’t into tennis anymore. So she picked up pickleball – the fast-growing sister sport to tennis. Lately, Eugenie Bouchard has been spending time exploring her hobbies during the holiday season. And what’s better than to watch a movie, right?

So she turned up her TV and put on ‘Our Little Secret’ on Netflix. It’s a new Christmas romantic comedy debuted on Netflix on November 27. It stars Lindsay Lohan and American actor Ian Harding. This marks Lohan’s third lead role in a Netflix original, following her performances in 2022’s Falling for Christmas and Irish Wish, released earlier this year. While putting an image of a scene where Lohan sat next to Harding, and whispered in his ear, “Are you hungry? I’m hungry,” Genie wrote, “ok feeling a lil nauseous,” in her Instagram story, dated December 5. Interestingly, the Canadian tennis player took an eating challenge 2 hours before feeling “nauseous”.!

Speaking of the possible reason behind her ‘nauseous’ condition, Eugenie actually ate too much ice cream. And it was prior to watching the movie. It was made evident by her Instagram stories. They showed her holding a cup full of ice cream, with a caption “can i do it”. Then, in the next story, she was holding an empty cup. With the caption “yes i can” she made it clear that she consumed the whole cup. Hence the feeling! At least that’s what one can interpret.

Meanwhile, Eugenie is giving all her time to pickleball these days. However, taking up this new sport was initially challenging for her a year ago!

Eugenie Bouchard found pickleball hard due to extreme practice requirements on the court

In 2023, during her interaction with Tennis.com website, she made a surprising revelation. It was related to her time of exploring pickleball in the initial phase. She mentioned that taking up the new sport was very challenging. So much so that her experience with tennis also didn’t help her much. “So many things that I would do in tennis are not what you want to do in pickleball, So it’s kind of like I have to rewire my brain and just spend a lot of time on the practice courts and playing matches until I finally got some wins,” she said.

The former World No.5 went 5-1 in sets before an 11-2, 14-16, 11-0 loss to eventual champion Kate Fahey. But her confidence was still high. “I’m so excited, I can’t tell you how happy I am, I feel like I’m been putting in the hours and I’m so happy to see it paying off on the match court,” she said while talking to Pickleballtv.
