A few months back, the Canadian tennis beauty, Eugenie Bouchard shocked the tennis fraternity by switching from the WTA Tour to the PPA Tour. Returning to the news with another round of shock, Bouchard revealed that she prefers not having friends on tour. She turned 30, on February 25, this year and was showered with birthday love from several WTA stars. To make such a comment within just five days makes tennis fans wonder what led her to this conclusion.

Even in 2015, Bouchard had openly admitted that she didn’t want to become really good friends with any of the girls on the tour. Recently, she appeared on the TV show ‘Family Feud Canada’ and yet again spoke on that topic, revealing the main reason for not preferring to have friends on Tour.

Recently during an interview with the host Gerry Dee, Eugenie Bouchard was asked about her greatest accomplishment. The Canadian tennis star revealed that she was the first Canadian-born player to reach the finals of a Grand Slam (2014 Wimbledon) representing Canada. She also added that her favorite experience was representing Canada at the Olympics. But when asked if is it harder to play a friend on tour or someone she just can’t stand, Bouchard said, “I try not to have friends on Tour.

She further added, “I found it harder to look across the net and see the face of someone I care about. Bouchard once stated that most of her friends are actually Americans

Bouchard’s self-made Gangnam-style dance with the British tennis star, Laura Robson in Beijing (2012) is quite popular in the tennis world. Interestingly, she also revealed that she’s friends with all the girls she grew up with and started playing tennis. She stated that most of her friends are actually Americans. But who are those?

Eugenie Bouchard mentioned that she has been friends with Shelby Roger since she was 12 years old. She also named Sloane Stephens to be one of her closest ones on the tour.
