American tennis star Sofia Kenin is one of the best players of the current generation. The 23-year-old had performed exceedingly well in the 2020 season; winning Australian open and reaching the finals of the French Open. However, the former world number 4 suffered a dip in form and has recently suffered from frequent injuries.

A few months ago, the 23-year-old withdrew from the second half of the ‘Sunshine Double’ in Miami. However, the American had been nursing an ankle injury and has since been away from the court. However, the latest story that she shared on her Instagram account will certainly bring smiles back to the face of her fans.

Sofia Kenin practices on Court

In a recent Instagram story shared by the former Australian Open champion, she is back at the tennis court. Although she was making light movements only. As she wrote in the caption, that her ankle is still tender.

In the caption, she thanked her team and expressed her eagerness to return to the court.“It’s been challenging being injured but excited to be hitting again! Rehabbing is essential for me to get back on the court and I’m having fun doing it with my team. Thank you.” She wrote.

Even though Sofia has started her practice, she has given no official update regarding her comeback, and her fans might have to wait a little longer to see her back on the tour.

Sofia signs new endorsement deal

Recently, the former Australian Open champion decided to part ways with the South Korean sports brand Fila. the 23-year-old was associated with the brand since 2018. However, Sofia has signed a new endorsement deal worth $150k with Bulgarian retailer Pironetic. However, the duration of the deal was not made public.
