Riba said, “Coco likes the idea. She is working really hard. She has the dream to win one medal for America. For everyone, not only for Coco. All the players want that, you know… represent your country, it’s so important. It’s like a really special tournament. Of course, Coco will go there and then she is gonna fight and do her best.”

Further, he went on to add, “This, for me, is the most important thing that Coco is entering the court, is leaving everything there, is working hard, is enjoying the process and I think so she found a way. And when you find a way, it’s more easy that good things are coming.”

Gauff, who plays doubles alongside singles in major events, added that it doesn’t matter to her if that comes in singles or doubles. She would be happy with a gold medal in either.
