Exhausted Danielle Collins Confesses to Feeling Homesick as She Craves a Getaway From Tennis

After running the show in Miami, Danielle Collins started her third appearance at the Credit One Charleston Open with a victory against the former world no.2 Paula Badosa. Collins defeated Badosa by 6-1,6-4 and with this victory, she is now on an 8-match winning streak. But keeping these things aside, Danielle Collins recently gave an interview with Tennis Channel where she revealed how utterly exhausted she is currently by the non-stop tours.

The 30-year-old American tennis star who had earlier announced that the 2024 season would be her last, recently revealed that she wants to take a vacation after such hectic on-court time. Collins has been traveling and playing tennis continuously over the last 3-4 months now and here’s what she said during the interview about her near plans.

During the interview with Tennis Channel, Collins revealed that she didn’t get much time to celebrate her victory in Miami. She had a lot of obligations and sponsorship stuff to do after her title triumph in Miami and then she had to travel to Charleston. Here’s what she said after her victory in the first round of the Credit One Charleston Open. “I had some obligations I had to fulfill which was great, But yeah at some point I’m going to take a vacation.

Collins then went on to add that she has been playing every week since December 26th. She stated, “I’ve only spent about 5 days at home since December. No, 25th, I left on Christmas Day for Australia. So, I’m due for a vacation at some time.” Danielle Collins has been looking in superb touch over the last few weeks and currently, she has moved up to the 22nd spot in women’s ranking.

The tennis world is now urging her to reconsider her retirement plans and hoping that she brings more glorious days to American tennis. But sadly for all the American tennis fans, Collins seems to have already made up her mind. She said she wouldn’t reconsider her retirement plans citing her emotional and personal struggles with health issues. Collins has also expressed her desire to prioritize having children after her retirement and give attention to her family and close ones.

So, is Danielle Collins going to take a vacation after the Charleston Open and come back with a fresh mind for the rest of the season? Well, that’s something that needs to be seen now. But the new discussion demands a look at what her favorite vacation destination is.

Collins reveals her favorite vacation destination!

During an interview with Jae-Ha Kim in 2022, Danielle Collins revealed the names of her favorite destinations around the world. She said, “Byron Bay, Australia, and Santorini, Greece. When I first visited Santorini, it was like nowhere I’d ever been. The water is spectacular, the food is out of this world and the history is absolutely everywhere you look.

Danielle Collins further recommended surfing in Australia and revealed besides tennis her favorite sport is surfing. “Australians take their surfing very seriously and the swells match their enthusiasm. Byron Bay in particular was a special spot where I’ve had some of my favorite afternoons riding waves and taking in the surf,” added the tennis star.
