As Serena Williams gears up for her post-tennis life, the 40-year-old featured in a chat with her friend Meghan Markle. In the podcast, the two women discussed various issues an ambitious woman has to face. While Serena narrated her challenges in her illustrious long career, Markle also narrated her challenges with the British Royal Family after her marriage to Prince Harry.

While many are lauding the ladies for speaking bravely about their issues, British broadcaster Piers Morgan took a dig at Markle.

Piers Morgan criticizes Markle’s interview with Serena

Markle took a shot at the British Royal Family. The 41-year-old said that she understood the negatives of being ambitious after dating her now-husband.

“I don’t ever remember personally feeling the negative connotation behind the word ambitious until I started dating my now-husband. And apparently, ambition is a terrible terrible thing, for women that is, according to some,” she said. However, this did not go well with the infamous British broadcaster Piers Morgan. He took to his Twitter account to slam Markle.

“It’s not your ambition we dislike, Princess Pinocchio. It’s the vile way you trash the Royal Family whilst simultaneously exploiting your royal status for millions of dollars, as with this podcast,” he wrote.

Serena Williams speaks about a traumatic incident

In her chat with Meghan Markle, Serena revealed the time when she was traumatized by the line umpire’s call. It happened in the 2004 US Open where Serena was not happy with the Hawk Eye technology. Further, the 40-year-old blamed line umpires for calling her balls out. She claimed they were not even close to the line.

The 23-time Grand Slam subsequently had a fear of hitting the ball, as she was scared that the umpire will call her ball out. Serena described the incident as a traumatic experience that didn’t allow her to play her natural attacking game for a long time.
