Alexis Ohanian, husband of Serena Williams and co-founder of Reddit, recently experienced a special moment where he saw his creation reach heights he could never have imagined on a family movie night.

This is not the first time Ohanian has felt joy when he saw Reddit in the media. The entrepreneur always hoped that his creation would be mentioned in one of the historic animated shows, and he was not disappointed. Now, he watches other projects pick up the name of Reddit.

The Mitchells vs the Machines is a movie about a family fighting a robot apocalypse when they are out on a road trip. It was created in 2021, and the movie also features a sinister AI. In one scene, the movie shows us a screen with the most famous social media apps. Instagram, Facebook, ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), and YouTube were on the page.

Along with them, Reddit was also featured. Watching the movie showing his creations, Serena Williams’ husband couldn’t help but feel proud. He shared an image of the moment on his Instagram page.

With the picture, he wrote the caption, “Family movie night with The Mitchells vs The Machines and this movie was so much fun — I loved it before the @reddit cameo, but seeing my college creation on the home screen of a sinister AI hell-bent on eliminating humanity was pretty special 🤪“.

The co-founder of Reddit is proud of the heights it has reached since he founded it in 2005. It now stands at a valuation of $10 billion as of 2023 and will only continue to grow as it becomes more popular.

The Simpsons was one show that was followed by millions ever since it came into existence in 1989. Ohanian also followed the show as it had become a part of the mainstream media and always hoped that his creation would make it into the show. His wish came true with a resounding success as Homer Simpson mentions that he practically lives on Reddit as he is talking to Marge in an alternate scenario where they never dated.

Ohanian has worked hard to take Reddit off the ground, and he is bearing the fruits of his labor now. He may have left the company in 2021, but it still lives large in his heart, as one can see his pride in Reddit showing further signs of success.
