Recently, she opened up about her fashion sense and, surprisingly, about a British model, whom she considers her style icon.

Venus Williams talks about fashion

Earlier this week, the former World Number 1 was involved in an interview with the fashion magazine, Fashionista. During the conversation, she opened up about how she shops and Naomi Campbell, the prominent British model whom she looks up to for style.

Talking about this, she said, “[Personal style] is about how you feel. Every couple of years, I create a mood board. Sometimes, I just feel like changing my style, so I’ll go on Pinterest and create a mood board like, ‘This is going to be the new me.’ Then, I go after it and start shopping in that direction.”

Further, Venus went on to add, “There was one point where all I wanted to do was be more risqué and wear shorter stuff, and I made another mood board after. I haven’t made one recently, though. We’ll see where it goes. Naomi Campbell is my whole style icon. She’s incredible. I love her. She just keeps reinventing herself. She’s amazing.”

Venus has never shied away from wearing some eye-catching outfits at events. She once revealed her thoughts on dressing up for the red carpet events.

Venus loves making a statement

At 43, age is like a fine wine for the American legend, Venus Williams. Despite her age, Venus has never lost her love for fashion, which is evident in her outfits at prominent events worldwide.

Opening up about why she puts in the effort to dress up uniquely, Venus said, “I love making a statement through my makeup, hair or outfit and telling a story along the way.” She does this by adding a pop of color to her looks.

While Venus is slowly fading away from the Tour with age, her fashion statements are here to say. She continues to set the trends with her looks and the younger generation can take a leaf out of her books as far as dressing sense is concerned.
