Alexis Ohanian and Serena Williams tied the knot in the year 2017 and since then they have constantly supported each other’s endeavors. Though Williams and Ohanian’s professions differ a lot, there are a few things that are common in every sector, like work-life balance.

According to the 23-time Grand Slam champion’s husband, she has helped him understand the importance of attaining that balance.

An important lesson for Alexis Ohanian

Ohanian is an entrepreneur, an investor, a husband and a father. Therefore, for him to give appropriate time to himself along with his other roles, and achieving balance was important. And that is where Williams’ advice helped him. Recently in an interview, he admitted, “The lesson that I got from my own wife…. was not realizing my own diminishing marginal returns on output where it just felt really good to be the only one up at 4 a.m. working and sending emails and doing stuff because I was like, ‘Man, I’m getting a f—— edge on everyone else”

“Then when you look to the folks who have the only objective work, that is athletes. Every single one of them will tell you that to be the best at what you do, you have to be resting and recovering…. So hearing that from her really helped solidify like, ‘Damn, okay, I need to make sure that when I am off, I’m actually off,” Ohanian added.

Ohanian and his daughter

Ohanian takes active participation in almost everything that little Olympia aspires to do. In fact, he sometimes is a major part of her plans, like when she demanded a pancake Christmas tree or a game of Mario Kart.

Recently, the father-daughter duo traveled to England to support Serena Williams at Wimbledon. And after cheering for the tennis legend as she made her comeback, they went out for some adventure. Ohanian and his four-year-old enjoyed a classic afternoon tea in London with a whole Bridgeton vibe around them.
