Serena Williams began her career early and by the time she was 17 she had a grand slam title under her name. A dream, that a good deal of tennis players have to give up after turning pro for years. Serena’s husband and Reddit founder, Alexis Ohanian, took to his Twitter to hype his wife up and boldly shared what he was doing at the age of 17 hilariously.

Alexis Ohanian co-founded Reddit in 2005 and is currently a successful internet entrepreneur. He never misses an occasion to share his appreciation and admiration for his wife. He took to his Twitter to share a picture of himself at the age of 17. Serena Williams’ husband stated, “So charming, @serenawilliams! IIRC you won your first Grand Slam that year. When I was 17, I was fighting for some playing time on varsity with my farmer’s tan”. Furthermore, he also replied with her picture of kissing the trophy at the US Open and stated, “We are not the same”.

Additionally, he shared a video of 17-year-old Serena Williams roaming around the streets of Paris during her French Open. Although she did not win the French Open that year, she knew she was going to only rise.

Growth of the tennis legend
The hype around the growth of Serena Williams is not unheard of. She turned pro at Quebec in 1995. Moving on, she was only 17 when she won her first grand slam title at the US Open. She had defeated top-seeded player Martina Hingis to clinch the title. After that, no one could stop the astounding victories of the American player.

From the 2002 French Open-2003 Australian Open, she reigned over the world of tennis and achieved the “Serena Slam” by winning all four majors in a row.

The resilience of Serena Williams
All of this did not come easily to the American tennis legend. She had started training early, along with her sister Venus Williams, under the aegis of their father, Richard Williams. The 23-time grand slam winner had been on a hiatus due to her injury, at the Wimbledon last year. However, she has hinted toward making a comeback at her favorite major, the grass court of Wimbledon.
