The 19-year-old performed on a different level throughout the tournament and ultimately came out on top. However, she’s facing some challenges in adapting to the life of the WTA tour. The former World No. 5, Fernando Gonzalez, opened up on the Brit’s critical situation.

Gonzalez believes the British sensation will have an amazing career ahead of her. However, people have started to expect a lot from the young girl after her heroics at the Flushing Meadows. The Chilean anticipates that Raducanu is going to do just fine in the future.

Emma Raducanu will be fine, says former World No. 5

The 2007 Australian Open finalist, Fernando Gonzalez, recently opened up on Emma Raducanu’s poor form after winning the title at US Open 2021. Since US Open, the Brit hasn’t shown her full potential on the WTA Tour. Gonzalez thinks it will take time for her to adapt to playing at WTA. However, he’s confident about Emma Raducanu’s ceiling in the sport.

“ Now everyone is looking at her, expecting her to do something special and the other players want to beat her. That can be tough, but she is going to be fine,” he stated in an exclusive interview.

Moreover, he feels Emma Raducanu requires some time. She’s just 19-years-old and people have started to expect more from the young girl. According to Gonzalez, she’s a great player with a great mentality and will have a stellar career.

Emma Raducanu truly portrayed her top game at US Open 2021. However, she’s lacking some experience on the WTA tour, being just 19-years-old.

The 19-year-old came under the spotlight after she did the unexpected by lifting her maiden Grand Slam title at US Open 2021. She entered the tournament as the qualifier but emphatically won the trophy, beating some of the finest players on the tour.
