Four Months After Retirement, Jehovah’s Witness Serena Williams Takes a Big Religious Plunge

Serena Williams, the former American tennis ace, recently revealed a personal religious moment with her fans. She underwent Jehovah’s Witness baptism just four months after walking away from tennis. Williams also used her time away to increase her religious education. She had previously expressed a wish to embrace her Jehovah’s Witness views. The video of the tennis legend receiving her baptism is now available online thanks to a blogger’s tweet.

Uploading a video of Serena getting baptized, a user tweeted, “Serena Williams, the famous Tennis player got baptized today at the Jehovah’s Witness Assembly in West Palm Beach Florida.” The former World No.1 seems fully committed to her new faith and is excited about the opportunity to venture into a different journey.

In addition to her successful tennis career, Williams is also known for her religious beliefs as a Jehovah’s Witness. Jehovah’s Witness is a Christian denomination that is known for its distinct beliefs and practices. In an interview with Vogue magazine back in 2017, the 23-time Grand Slam Champion acknowledged that she wasn’t a strong adherent of the faith but expressed a desire to follow it again.

The decision to become a Jehovah’s Witness is a big commitment for Williams, as it requires her to live her life by the religion’s teachings.
