The 39-year-old has spoken publicly about how Serena and Olympia motivated him to root for women’s sports. Recently, Alexis Ohanian was part of the annual Salute to Women in Sports event. He was honored with the Champion for Equality Award at this year’s New York City. The American, during his winning speech, ridiculed America’s men’s soccer team over the women’s team’s excellence and voiced, “So here was the sport women’s soccer. We’re thankfully thanks to the amazing work of so many. The women’s soccer is the greatest on the planet. It’s the greatest in the world.”
