Two-time Grand Slam champion, Ashleigh Barty has announced her engagement to long-time boyfriend, Garry Kissick. The Australian international took to Instagram to share the amazing news with her fans.

Barty met Garry Kissick back in 2016. After dating for almost five years, the couple has now announced that they are finally getting hitched. However, as of now, Ashleigh is still on her break from tennis.

The 2021 Wimbledon champion, Ashleigh Barty announced her engagement to her boyfriend, Garry Kissick. Sharing a wonderful picture of the couple on her Instagram, she said, ” Future Husband,” while Kissick posted the same picture and wrote, “I love you Ash Barty.”

Kissick is an ambitious professional golfer, at Brooklands Golf Club in Queensland. Despite keeping their love life as private as possible, the couple has been spotted together on several occasions. Kissick has often been seen in the stand, cheering on his girlfriend at multiple Grand Slam events.

Barty to play the Australian Open 2022?

Ashleigh Barty has had an outstanding 2021 WTA season. She emphatically won two WTA 1000 titles, along with her triumph at Wimbledon. She defeated Karolina Pliskova in an epic three-set final to lift her maiden Wimbledon title.

The Australian then entered the US Open as the favorite for the title. However, she made an unfortunate exit in the third round of the competition, losing to Shelby Rogers in three sets. Since then she has decided to take a sabbatical from tennis. Notably, the Australian traveled back home to spend time with her friends and family.

Ashleigh Barty is now expected to return to the sport at the Australian Open 2022. Notably, Barty is yet to triumph at the ‘Happy Slam’. With the kind of performance she has showcased in 2021, she will be aiming to lift her maiden Australian Open title in 2022.
