Though the player herself took the defeat amiably, she had to come under the scrutiny of many. Former world no. 5 Daniela Hantuchova conveyed a message for her to toughen up and practice hard.

Emma Raducanu rose to prominence when she won the US Open in the year 2021 against Leylah Fernandez. However, she has not been able to stay consistent in her game. The player lost the third round against Petra Martic at the Indian Wells. After that, she came into the Miami Open to do better. However, Katerina Siniakova defeated her in the second round of the Miami Open 2022.

The British player was undoubtedly disappointed over losing as she had the chance for the win. Daniela Hantuchova’s advice to Emma

Daniela Hantuchova regarded her match and said, “I think it is going to hurt big time because of the chances she had.” She acknowledged though the climate was humid with harsh conditions, this is where the player would have to put her best. She said, “This is where you have to be tough if you want to win matches”. Former world no. 5 talked about how Emma was losing respect in the players’ eyes. The Slovakian player stated, “Everyone wants to beat her.” “All the locker-room respect she had is going away,” she added with regret. The former player highlighted Emma has to rethink her strategy, “and get out there on the practice court”.

Moreover, Emma had to face a backlash from people. They accused her of not concentrating on tennis. This came in the context of her uploading a picture of her endorsement with Porsche. Though she had retorted back to them; she continues to face the resistance.

What is next for Emma Raducanu?

The 13th seed, Emma Raducanu, is now gearing up for representing Great Britain in the Billie Jean King Cup against the Czech Republic. Along with that, she is also preparing for the clay-court season, although she has never played on it. It would be her first time playing for Roland Garros as well. The player has shown her flexibility and quick learning traits and, along with Daniela Hantuchova, we would hope for the teenager to manifest her qualities into success.
