One such disheartening incident took place with American tennis player Brittany Collens. She is receiving hate on the Internet after she trained hard to achieve her current feat. She is at the initial stage of her career and the hate she is receiving dumbfounded the player.

Consequently, the player finds herself in an unfortunately amusing position as she wants to enjoy her victory but some people on the internet don’t.

Whenever young tennis players step on the court, they dream of something big. And to reach there, every single small step is a huge achievement. But seems like people have too much malice in their hearts to let young tennis player, Brittany Collens enjoy her achievement.

Collens qualified for the Canada 02A tournament, an event that falls under ITF 25k category. And as one would expect she was elated to be there. However, not everyone was. She shared her achievement on her Twitter as well as on her Instagram story. She stated the horrible reaction of some haters, “Worked my butt off today and qualified for main draw of 25k. Getting more death threats today then when I lose lol.”

And even though the player laughed it off, tennis enthusiasts showed solidarity with her. She interacted with them and told them the reason.

Detailing one horrid message, she stated, “Thank you! I know it’s crazy. This guy said if I come to Orlando he’s gonna beat my head in. Wild.”

Collens also admitted that it was because of betting. The player won while these haters must have bet on the other player.

Collens has battled with the NCAA too

This is not the first time the young tennis player has gone through a rough phase. As per her Instagram bio too, she claims to be the Atlantic 10 champion which has not been verified by the NCAA.

This is because of the $252 dollars she used to receive as a part of her scholarship which was for access to a landline. However, due to the continuance of this allowance even after moving out of campus, the NCAA penalized her by removing her entire junior career.

Even after an appeal, the NCAA stuck to its decision.

And now Collens is facing the brunt of the haters. Nonetheless, the player continues to rise step-by-step proving her skills on the tennis court over anything else.
