“Going to Go For It”: Eugenie Bouchard Confident Ahead of WTA Guadalajara Open 2021 Finals

Despite a poor start in 2021, Eugenie Bouchard has made an incredible comeback in the season. The Canadian star has regained her momentum and has played some exceptional tennis lately. Because of this, she has earned herself a spot in the finale of the WTA Guadalajara Open 2021.

Former World No.5 Eugenie Bouchard recently defeated Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the semis of the Guadalajara Open 2021. She simply thrashed her opponent and was able to defeat her in straight sets. The final scoreline of the match was 6-2, 7-6.

In a recent interview after her victory in the semi-finale, Bouchard highlighted that it had been a hectic week for her. She also claimed that she is here to play and would not put any pressure on herself ahead of the finals.

“It’s been a hectic week, I haven’t had time to slow down and think at all. From no altitude to altitude … whatever happens, happens. I’m here to play, I’m not putting any pressure on myself. I almost didn’t come,” said Bouchard in the interview.

She revealed how she didn’t even have a plan to play at the WTA Guadalajara Open 2021 initially. However, she is happy that she played here and is now in the finals.

The tennis beauty also disclosed how she made her mind to come to Mexico and play at the tournament. She also said that she is quite cheerful playing at the event right now.

“So, I’m super happy I decided to just say, ‘I’m going to go for it and go to Mexico and play. I’m happy that I did. You just never know what’s going to happen,” added the 2014 Wimbledon runner-up.

Bouchard recently played in the doubles finale at the Lyon Open 2021. Even though she lost the match with partner Olga Danilovic, she exhibited some great skills on the court.

It is a great opportunity for Bouchard to win a title after a long time at the Guadalajara Open 2021. She’ll face Sara Sorribes Tormo in the finals and will look forward to playing some attacking and aggressive tennis. Will Bouchard be able to win the title at the WTA Guadalajara 2021?
