Alexis Ohanian, husband of Serena Williams, is active in several fields. The co-founder of Reddit often shares his opinions on various topics on social media. Recently, he shared a post which exemplified the controversial rift between LIV golfers and the PGA. The post was made by a LIV Golfer, Harold Varner III, who went against his organization for their recent move. Ohanian supported Varner’s move by sharing the post.
The LIV golf controversy has gone on for quite some time now. Several players have defected from the PGA Tour to play for LIV golf. The rift has developed so much that the PGA Tour launched a countersuit against LIV in response to LIV attorneys wanting to shed light on the organizational structure and financial dealings of the American Tour.

Varner believes that is the reason most golfers are switching over to the rival league. LIV CEO, Greg Norman, believes otherwise. The former world number 1 said that there’s more than just money that drew away PGA Tour players. As per Norman, golf is a game that can increase diplomacy in the world and that LIV league can actually help grow the game.

But Varner does not believe a word Norman says. He put forth his angry thoughts in a slightly less than tasteful manner addressing the other LIV golfers, “They’re full of s—; they’re growing their pockets,” Varner said. “I tell them all the time, all of them: ‘You didn’t come here to f—ing grow the f—ing game,’” he added. Ohanian shared the post that talked about Varner’s thoughts on his Instagram story.
Ohanian criticizes LIV Golf
Alexis Ohanian loves playing golf himself. He even shared his scorecard for a game he was playing on his official Twitter account. He had made back-to-back holes in one and jokes that he can retire from the game now. One user suggested that he should join LIV golf. Ohanian was quick to turn down the suggestion with a sharp, “Never”.
