18-time Grand Slam winner Martina Navratilova is undoubtedly one of the greatest tennis players of all time. Recently, she has become pretty expressive on social media, particularly on Twitter.

Earlier, the former Czechoslovakian-American tennis player took to Twitter and criticized the Saudi-backed Golf tour. Also, she has been very critical of the players participating in this new Golf series. 

Martina Navratilova criticizes the players for taking part in the Saudi-backed golf series

On Twitter, the former tennis player wrote, “Shame on the lot of them. Spare me the It’s good for golf BULLS**T!!!”

Notably, the Saudi-backed golf series called LIV Golf will start its first tournament in St Albans on Thursday. Many players from the PGA tour, like Dustin Johnson, Graeme McDowell, and others, have joined the LIV Golf. Most recently, Dustin Johnson quit his PGA membership to join the new Saudi-backed golf series. 

Earlier, Navratilova praised Tiger Woods for standing up against the Saudi revolution, as he supported the PGA tour. Notably, Woods criticized pro golfer Phil Phil Mickelson for choosing the LIV golf over the PGA tour. Also, some of the comments Mickelson made irked Woods. After hearing the news, Navratilova praised Woods, as she tweeted, “Good to hear!”

It is also worth mentioning that LIV Golf is offering around $4 million to the winner of the tournament in St Albans. Whereas, the PGA tour offers around $2.16 million to the winners.

Navratilova’s achievements throughout her tennis career  

Navratilova has been one of the most decorated athletes in the history of tennis. Apart from winning 18 Grand Slam singles titles, she has also won 31 doubles titles and 10 mixed doubles titles. Moreover, she has won the most number of matches (2189) in the history of tennis. Overall, she won a total number of 369 career titles, with a winning percentage of 85.89%, which was truly remarkable.

Even at the age of 50, she won a title in mixed doubles at the US Open in 2006. Since retiring from professional tennis in 2006, Navratilova has been appearing on various TV channels as a tennis expert. In 2000, she was inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame as an honorary member.
