Along with sister Serena, Venus has been constantly promoting King Richard, which shows the journey of both the sisters told through the lens of father, Richard Williams.

The movie opened to rave reviews from critics and fans alike. The promotional events for the movie also made the Williams sisters dwell back on some good memories from their past while they were just two aspiring tennis players.

Venus and Serena had a discouraging 2021 season

Both Serena and Venus went on to create huge impact on the WTA tour. Not just individually, the sisters also won tons of titles together and added multiple Grand Slams to their name.

However, this season has been a mixed bag for the Williams sisters. As Serena made it to the semis at the Australian Open, she couldn’t repeat the performance in any of the other majors.

In a major blow to her 24th Grand Slam chances, the American was forced to retire from her first-round match against Katerina Siniakova at the Wimbledon Championships due to an ankle injury that was caused by an unfortunate slip on-court.

Since then, Serena didn’t participate in any event and skipped the US Open as well.

On the other hand, Venus Williams played as many tournaments as possible this year and might keep on doing the same next year, starting with the Australian Open.
