Coco Gauff is one of the players in the WTA to look out for. The 19-year-old has achieved many feats at her age that would be unthinkable. To play at such a level requires extreme dedication and a lot of sacrifices. Gauff is aware of the situation and is sacrificing on one of the most fun times of the year, Spring Break. Being a player in the ongoing Miami Open, one can’t exhaust themselves partying, and Gauff is well aware of that. Moreover, Gauff is underage, so alcohol is entirely off the table for her. However, she is trying to have fun in her own way. Gauff will spend the spring break playing a game beloved by the world.
The Miami Open is a part of the ‘sunshine doubles’ along with the Indian Wells. Players of every rank dream of competing in the tournament to establish their glory. Coco Gauff’s best result in Miami has been round four, which she reached last year. Her first match in this year’s Miami Open is against the world number 83, Rebecca Mariano.

Drinking alcohol and staying out late for partying is something an athlete rarely takes part in. When on tour, even the suggestion would be met with a ‘are you crazy?’ look. Coco Gauff is no different. She is aware of what one needs to do in order to succeed in sports.
With the ongoing Miami open also comes the Spring Break. Most students around the world will have a party haul and enjoy as much as they can before they get back to their classes and work. However, Coco Gauff is focusing on the tour. Additionally, since she is underage, she stays away from alcohol.

“And I feel like now it’s spring break so everybody’s, you know, partying and I can’t do that at the tournament and I’m underage still, so yeah,” Gauff said.

Spring Break: Gauff style
She may not be able to party. But the American sensation is not sacrificing enjoyment completely. She has plans to play the Massively Multiplayer Online game Fortnite. Since her house is only 45 minutes away from the venue, she has asked her brother to get the gaming console so she can style Spring Break her way.

“I think I’m just gonna be chilling in my hotel room, tell my brother to bring the Xbox from home, so I’m probably gonna be playing some Fortnite or something,” Gauff added. The 2022 French Open finalist also added that playing in Miami becomes more special as she plays in the stadium of her favorite NFL team, the Miami Dolphins.
Gauff has only gone as far as round four in the Miami Open. With her game improving, she would be looking to demolish all the competition in her way this year.
